  • Head Men’s and Women’s Track & Cross Country Coach Staff Full Time

    Position Description

    Summary: The head track & cross country coach provides leadership for all aspects of the track & cross country program at 博天堂官方.  The head coach will be a mature Christian leader committed to utilizing track & cross country as a tool for advancing the University’s Christ-centered mission; developing student athletes from academic, spiritual, and educational perspectives; and, establishing a culture of performance excellence.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. The head track & cross country coach will advance the University’s mission to educate students for Christian leadership and service in the church and professions throughout the world. An overarching passion for this mission must be demonstrated by the head coach and upheld as a standard within all track & cross country operations of the University.
    2. The head track & cross country coach, as a highly visible representative of the University, will represent the University in a Christ-honoring and professional manner, while also ensuring that others associated with the program do likewise.
    3. The head track & cross country coach will actively serve as a Christian mentor to student athletes.
    4. The head track & cross country coach will serve as supervisor over all part-time coaching staff, and support personnel.
    5. The head country coach is responsible for the recruitment, training, and coaching of all student athletes in the program.
    6. The head track & cross country coach is responsible for generating additional funds to support the track & cross country program (i.e., summer camps, donor solicitation, etc.).
    7. The head track & cross country coach is responsible for maintaining an environment in which student athletes demonstrate retention and graduation rates at or above those of the overall University.  Concurrently, the head track & cross country coach must maintain player numbers that are agreed-upon during each budget cycle.
    8. The head track & cross country coach is responsible for managing facilities care and maintenance.
    9. The head track & cross country coach is responsible for overall program administration, including the development and exercise of an annual budget.
    10. The head track & cross country coach is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the recruiting process, from prospect identification to scheduling and completing campus visits to final enrollment.   A bias in favor of recruiting players from Kentucky and extending to 博天堂官方’s traditional “market” of contiguous states and constituent churches will be demonstrated in recruitment strategies and goals.
    11. The head track & cross country coach must be highly communicative with prospective students, families, and the overall campus community.
    12. The head track & cross country coach will maintain and comply with all policies, rules, and regulations included in the 博天堂官方 Staff Handbook.
    13. The head track & cross country coach will ensure program integrity with regard to requirements of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA.
    14. Above items are a summary of responsibilities and not a comprehensive list.  Additional duties may be assigned by the Athletic Director or 博天堂官方 Administration.

    The following requirements will be used when determining the person to fill the position of head track & cross country coach:

    1. The head track & cross country coach will demonstrate spiritual maturity and a history of Christian leadership, and will enthusiastically utilize track & cross country as a tool in fostering spiritual growth in student athletes.
    2. The head track & cross country coach must enthusiastically support the mission and vision of Kentucky Christian University and its core values.
    3. The head track & cross country coach serves as a twelve-month employee and is eligible for all university benefits (i.e., health insurance, vacation, etc.).
    4. A master’s degree is preferred, but applicants with lesser academic achievement will be considered.
    5. Collegiate coaching experience is preferred.

    OTHER ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS: Current 博天堂官方 operations and building design ordinarily requires the individual to reach, bend, lift, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform similar physical functions while doing the work of a Head Coach (e.g., looking for items, carrying equipment and other items, loading the printer, stacking boxes, or searching the Sports Building and/or offices). All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without a significant risk of injury, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed above.

    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

    1. Education: A master’s degree is preferred and High School Diploma required.
    2. Experience: At least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
    3. Values: The Head Coach must be sympathetic with the mission and purpose of Kentucky Christian University and enthusiastically support the University’s core values. The Head Coach must be a self-starter who inspires excellence in others by his/her own work ethic. The Head Coach must accept ownership of his/her area of responsibility and provide leadership throughout the University community as it relates to the nature, function, and scope of the track & cross country program

     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    1. The successful candidate must be adherent to the Stone-Campbell Restoration tradition (e.g. Christian Church and/or Churches of Christ).
    2. Full-time salary Exempt position. Hours: M-F 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (noon), 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (some evening and weekend hours as needed for recruiting).

    Job Summary:
    Kentucky Christian University is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses in Physical Education and Health in the School of Education.

    Current Content Area Openings:
    Health, Physical Education

    Reporting Relationship: 
    Adjunct faculty report to the Dean of the School of Education.

    Education and Experience:
    Candidates will hold no less than a Master’s degree, including at least 18 graduate semester hours (or the equivalent in quarter hours) in the Education field. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience grades K-12

    5. Serve in an advisory role to the School of Education in the ongoing efforts to improve quality.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Position Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Maintains physical grounds in a clean and aesthetically appealing manner; maintains athletic fields in playable condition.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

    The Grounds Maintenance Technician reports administratively to the Director of Facilities.  The Grounds Maintenance Technician works closely with all operational units across campus.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class.)

    1. Orders supplies and materials
    2. Mowing campus lawns,
    3. Garbage pick-up and removing trash and debris,
    4. Removing snow and ice, etc.
    5. The maintenance of shrubs and flower beds, the removal of leaves,
    6. Repair of sidewalks, fences, signs, etc.
    7. The planting, transplanting, and pruning of trees, shrubs and flowers,
    8. Maintains and administers chemicals used for pest control/maintenance and fertilization of foliage,
    9. Maintains landscape using heavy equipment,
    10. Upkeep and repair of grounds equipment,
    11. Maintain and comply with all policies, rules, and regulations included in the 博天堂官方 Staff Handbook.
    12. Performs related duties as assigned.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. May work as part of a team in special projects.
    2. Subject to 24-hour on call status

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    1. Skills and knowledge required are normally acquired through completion of high school or equivalent.
    2. Five years of job related experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to department supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
